Why Our Lawn Finally Looks Like a Golf Course (Thanks, Local Pros!)

For years, our lawn was a patchy embarrassment—bald spots, crabgrass, and mysterious brown circles. Then I found Baur Lawns’ Marlboro lawn care page, and it called me out: “Most homeowners overwater and under-aerate.” Guilty.

The Revelation:
Their breakdown of seasonal care for our area was gold:

  • Spring: Dethatching + pre-emergent weed control.

  • Summer: Deep, infrequent watering (not daily sprinkles!).

  • Fall: Overseeding with cool-season grasses.

What Changed:
We hired them for aeration and seeding last fall. By May, our grass was so lush the neighbor asked if we’d installed turf. Nope—just science and local know-how.

Pro Tip:
Their blog warned against cheap fertilizers that burn roots. Opt for slow-release blends—worth every penny.
